About A Pinch of Marketing

Hello! My name is Kaitlyn Nelson and I'm the creative marketer behind A Pinch of Marketing. I'm a marketing professional with over 15 years of experience in all aspects of marketing, including print and digital advertising, SEO, brand awareness, product marketing, website redesign and maintenance, content creation, graphic design, and social media. I enjoy helping small businesses with their marketing efforts... even if it's just a pinch.

A Pinch of History
What started out as a career break to support my kids during the pandemic turned into a new found passion. I was volunteering at a non-profit organization helping with their digital marketing. I worked with what they had, making small but impactful changes to their website. By adding SEO and having a consistent layout of content and design, we were able to increase both site traffic and engagement.

I thought about how even those small changes can make a big difference. And to a small business, that impact can mean so much more.
I've worked at small companies and understand that marketing isn't always first priority or budgets are tight. I've also worked with agencies and know how expensive the proposals and add-ons can be. While they offer great services, it can be very hard for a small business to justify the cost.

I wanted to fill that gap and provide small businesses with just a pinch of marketing help to get them going. Whether that's building a solid foundation on their websites or content marketing or brochures or whatever their marketing needs are. Sometimes the foundation may already be there, but having an extra set of hands once in a while could greatly help any marketing team. I can be that person to jump in and help out in a pinch.

I set out on a new adventure and started A Pinch of Marketing, so I can help small businesses succeed with just a pinch of marketing (or even a spoonful of marketing, if you want more).

A Pinch of Personal
I live in Minnesota, just south of the Twin Cities, with my husband, two kids, and two dogs. I originally grew up on a farm in North Dakota and love that small-town feel and community. You can usually find me at one of my kids' activities, reading a book, playing board/card games, traveling, or snuggling with my puppies.
